VIMI’s fundamental mission is to improve the quality of health care for all Medicare beneficiaries in the U.S. Virgin Islands. As a non-profit organization, we make every effort to achieve significant and continuing improvement in the quality and effectiveness of health care at the community level. We provide free expert resources to consumers, doctor’s offices, hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and caregivers to refine their care delivery systems to ensure patients get the right care at the right time, every time. We safeguard the integrity of the Medicare trust fund by ensuring payment is made only for reasonable and medically necessary services, and by investigating beneficiary complaints about the quality of health care they receive
The national Quality Improvemnt Organization (QIO) program is an integral part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) strategy to advance national efforts to motivate providers, at the local level, in improving and measuring quality outcomes of health care.
